In article after article Brown traced these families from their earliest known origins in the old world down to the end of the nineteenth century, his combined output amounting to an encyclopedia of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia families. Brown's work has been badly neglected, owing to the scarcity of the Yarmouth Herald. To rectify this situation and place this invaluable body of source materials at the disposal of the researcher, Martha and Bill Reamy put together as complete a collection of columns as possible, reset the type, and indexed the entire collection.
