He was PGA Teacher of the Year in 1986 and a four-time Wisconsin Professional of the Year. He was ranked #11 among American golf teachers by the editors of Golf Digest in 2007. De la Torre passed away in 2016 at the age of ninety-four.
Carol Mann is a former LPGA golfer and two-time major winner. She was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1977.
