Jan has a Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Zoology from the University of Exeter, England, and received her Ph.D. in Biology from the University of London, England. She has authored or co-authored over 80 scientific papers on aquatic animal health and environmental science. Her first novel, The Curse of the Crystal Kuatzin was published in 2013.
