He grew up in his family's groves in Polk County, summered in the swamps of Gulf Hammock and currently resides in Saint James City. He holds a bachelor's degree from Stetson University, an MBA from the University of South Florida and has worked in the commercial banking industry for 35 years. He is also one of the state's most experienced amateur racecar drivers.
