Su reto consiste en adentrarse en un campo tan extenso que necesitan documentarse sobre problemas de conocimiento en reas que no son de su especialidad, as como ver la propia desde una perspectiva diferente. Los alumnos, por su parte, tienen la libertad de optar por temas relativos al conocimiento que tengan que ver con sus inquietudes particulares a la hora de hacer sus trabajos. La dificultad consiste en incorporar "una nueva lente", ya que es muy diferente asimilar contenidos concretos que reflexionar sobre la producci n y adquisici n del conocimiento. Unos y otros se encuentran con un claro est mulo para aproximarse a los principales rasgos del perfil de la comunidad de aprendizaje del IB. Nada de todo eso ser a posible sin un punto de partida.
