Two towns resting on opposite sides of the sea deal with the cold in different ways, rarely interacting with each other except for a postman who doesn't belong and a native radio spokesperson who needs answers. Sharing similar goals, they work together to find a group of whale poachers. Underwater Eyes Will is depressed and moves to Los Angeles to change his life.
Author Biography
Gabrielle Rupert is from Framingham, MA, and has a B.S. in Biology and an M.S. in Marine Biology. She is currently working as a fisheries observer in the Northeast Atlantic Ocean, fulfilling her dreams of making the world more sustainable. While she's not working on fishing boats, she writes short stories and novels. Her work has been published in Pif Magazine, Ripples in Space, Transfer Magazine, In Parentheses, the Coffin Bell Journal, and Forge & Flint. Riva Riley is a biologist whose real-world experiences enliven this tale. Originally from the Chicago area, her research focuses on South American aquatic life which strangely brought her to England to study Zoology. This is her first novella. Pete Wright is the author of several short stories, essays, and a novella. He is currently working on a novel. As an editor for Running Wild Press, he has edited two novels, a novella anthology, and a collection of short stories. He became an acquisitions editor for the press in June 2021. Brian Philip Katz, a poet and experimental filmmaker, wrote and directed the award winning films, Roman Buildings, The ABC Conjecture, and Noether. He is the co-director of the Creative Writing Program at CUNY Kingsborough.
