by Mohamed Elgayar (Author)

Quran English translation and interpretation, that is literal and faithful to the Quran Arabic language.

"Do they not contemplate the Quran? And if it was from someone other than Allah, they would have found in it many contradictions"
(Chapter 4-82)

What is the Quran?
The Arabic word, 'Quran, means 'recitation' and 'reading'.
The Holy Quran which is the sacred scripture of Islam was orally revealed in the Arabic language, upon the prophet Mohamed by Allah through the angel Gabriel during the years 610-632 CE
Quran is a complete and comprehensive system of life, via Allah's straight path, that covers multiple themes in the material and spiritual worlds. Themes range from articles of faith, life and death, personal and public law, and a host of moral, social, material, and spiritual subjects.
Quran has been unchanged since it was revealed to the prophet Mohamed.
"We have dispensed for the people in this Quran from every example, but indeed human was the most thing, argumentative"
(Quran 18-54)

How to read the Quran?
Start with the short Chapters e.g. Chapter 1 The opening Al-Fatiha.
Read slowly in-depth be patient and humble, contemplate and inquire.
Quran is the best explanation for itself.
Let the Quran answer the questions you have in your mind.
Note down all the questions raised in your mind.

How Is The Quran divided?
The Quran is divided into 114 chapters,
of which 86 chapters were revealed in Mecca,
and 28 chapters were revealed in Medina.
Those chapters revealed in Mecca deal primarily with the "Islamic Creed" including Belief in Allah the Omnipresent and Eternal, His angels, His books, His messengers,
Resurrection and Judgment Day, and the divine preordination of good and evil.
Those chapters revealed in Medina deal mainly with moral principles, legislation, community development, and warfare.
Also, Medina as a city included a wider and more sophisticated savvy audience and opposition to Islam than Mecca's pagans. e.g. The Jews, The Christians, Hypocrites, etc.

What is Islam?
Islam is pure monotheistic faith followed by people who:
- Surrender in complete submission to the One God "Allah".
- Believe in Allah's messengers and His books, from Abrahams's scrolls,
Moses' Torah, David's Psalms, Jesus' Gospel,
and follow "The Quran" Allah's final revelation upon Prophet Mohamed.
- Believe in Allah's angels,
- Believe in the Day of judgment,
- Believe in The predestined by Allah.
Muslims also witness that there is no Deity but Allah and Mohamed is his messenger,
pray 5 times a day, fast the month of Ramadan, do pilgrims to Mecca, and give alms.

"Say [Muhammed], We have believed in Allah and in what was revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Descendants, and in what was given to Moses and Jesus and the prophets from their God. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims [submitting] to Him."
(Quran 3-84)

Who is Prophet Muhammed?
Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him) was born in Mecca in 570 CE and died in Medina in 632 CE.
Muhammed is the descendent of Ismail, Abraham's eldest son and brother of Isaac.
Muhammed was the social, religious, and political leader and the last messenger from God.
Muhammed was an orphan only child, he was not literate, and spent most of his early life as a merchant.
At age 40, he began to have revelations from Allah that became "The Holy Quran" and the foundation of Islam. Muhammed was successful in both the religious and secular realms, by 630 CE he had unified Arabia under a single religion and started calling for Islam beyond Arabia.

"O Prophet, indeed We have sent you as a witness and a bringer of good tidings and a warner"
(Quran 33-4
