En el tercer cap tulo, los autores, reducen el marco de estudio de la psicomotricidad educativa, situando sta en el contexto espa ol. Se presenta su recorrido hist rico, la tendencia actual y una propuesta general de intervenci n. Los autores Con esta obra, que por s misma ya sugiere la necesidad de una continuidad, Gil Madrona y Mendiara Rivas intentan, y consiguen en aquellos aspectos en que centran su an lisis, concretar un concepto, el de "psicomotricidad", que a menudo ha sido utilizado de manera superficial e incoherente. Con el tratamiento que estos autores dispensan a la psicomotricidad, sta se convierte en una alternativa metodol gica. La contribuci n m s importante que a nuestro juicio realiza esta obra es la de demostrar que educaci n f sica y psicomotricidad no tienen por qu ser dos conceptos antag nicos o diferentes. Si se puede intentar educar f sicamente desde diversas perspectivas, inspir ndose en diferentes sistemas pedag gicos o en modelos te ricos y metodol gicos diversos, la educaci n f sica puede admitir formulaciones alternativas, una de las cuales ser a la psicomotricista.
