Leopoldo Lugones Arg ello's first book of poems, Las monta as del oro, contained measured and free verse prose and appeared during the height of modernism. Later he published two more collections inspired by Rub n Dar o. Odas seculares marked a change in his style, exalting the Argentine riches inspired by Virgil. His poetry becomes intimate in later works, and some of his posthumous poems have a more narrative style.

Leopoldo Lugones Arguello (1874-1938). Argentina. Su primer libro de poemas es Las montanas del oro, de 1897, con versos medidos y libres, y prosa poetica, en pleno auge del modernismo. Mas tarde publico Los crepusculos del jardin (1905) y Lunario sentimental (1909), todos influidos por Ruben Dario. Odas seculares (1910), supuso un cambio en su estilo, que exalta las riquezas argentinas inspirado en Virgilio. Su poesia se vuelve intimista y cotidiana en El libro fiel (1912), El libro de los paisajes (1917) y Las horas doradas (1922). Los Poemas solariegos (1927) y el postumo Romances del Rio Seco tienen un estilo mas narrativo.
