Virginia Cantarella is a multi gifted artist who earned her living as a medical illustrator. She paints both realistically and abstractly, has illustrated books as ranging from a book on phonics, a book about miniature horses, mystery stories, and two of her own books on anatomy.
Some years ago she met Maria Laura Cantarella Arganini on Facebook. Maria Laura wondered if they might be related. They are not, as Cantarella is Virginia's name from her first marriage. However, she responded to Maria Laura in Italian; (Virginia is trilingual having lived in Italy and France). Intrigued, Maria Laura asked if they could be friends, and they began to correspond almost daily. After several months of corresponding, Maria Laura came to the US to visit Virginia in her home in South Westerlo, NY. There have been five more visits.
