She has travelled worldwide lecturing and presenting the Children's Art House concept. Her dream to see Children's Art Houses in each community of New Zealand has flourished. With 50 years of service experience with community arts and culture, Shona has a deep concern for talented children who grow up in isolation. Oku Moe Moea, "The dream which is bigger than I am," is set in Opotiki, which is New Zealand`s lowest socio-economic area, and addresses her concerns.
