Tesfai had to survive a treacherous journey from Ethiopia to Djibouti across the Dekali Desert, leave Djibouti for Saudi Arabia, flee Saudi Arabia for Sudan before coming to California. Today he is a missionary in San Francisco, reaching out from an Ethiopian congregation to a multi ethnic neighborhood. When he looks back on his life, he can see meaning and purpose.
