Author Biography
I am a mother, wife, and teacher living in Northern California. Nothing is more important to me than my family. On September 22, 2010, the unthinkable happened; I lost my 16-year-old son. He was a healthy, athletic, friendly, and loving boy. His death was so unexpected and left us all in shock. That day the woman I was had forever changed. The grief was deep, and I was surrounded in darkness, but over time, light began to shine into that darkness. This book is about that journey; my grieving process, surviving life day by day, my search to understand the woman I had become, and my search for my son. This search opened the spiritual journey I was meant to take and the result of that brought hope, light and a deeper understanding into my life. Anyone who has experienced the loss of a child will connect with the raw pain in this story. In that connection, I hope the realization that they are not alone, and that others have experienced this loss and survived, will bring comfort. It is also my hope that the spiritual journey I share will shine a ray of light, promise and peace into the hearts of those who have experienced this deep loss, as well as any other type of loss. Writing this book was part of my plan. May this book reach the hearts that are meant to be touched by it.
