Evelina Cabrera nació en Virreyes, San Fernando, provincia de Buenos Aires, el 26 de septiembre de 1986. Tras la separación de sus padres, con solo 13 años, de a poco se alejó de su hogar hasta que se fue a vivir a la calle y a trabajar cuidando autos. Luego de varios años difíciles, volvió a la casa paterna decidida a rehacer su vida: terminó la escuela secundaria, se inició como personal trainer y descubrió su pasión por el fútbol. Jugó en el Club Atlético Platense hasta que, en 2012, tuvo que retirarse por un problema de salud. Ese mismo año empezaba un camino como entrenadora y dirigente que la llevaría a ser reconocida mundialmente. En 2013, fundó la Asociación Femenina de Fútbol Argentino (AFFAR) con el firme propósito de empoderar a l as jugadoras e impulsar el fútbol femenino en todo el país. Además, se recibió de técnica de fútbol, coach y manager deportivo. Llamada por las instituciones más importantes del país para desarrollar la integración de género y deporte. Durante 2020 fue incluida entre las 100 mujeres más influyentes según la BBC.
