Se realiza tambi n una revisi n sobre la literatura de la divisi n sectorial junto con un an lisis de las caracter sticas innovadoras dentro del sector terciario. Para ello realizamos una introducci n te rica a todos los conceptos, analizamos las tendencias actuales al respecto y finalmente concluimos con un an lisis descriptivo y exploratorio de los principales indicadores de innovaci n a varios niveles, obtenido estos de las fuentes estad sticas INE y Eurostat. Nuestras conclusiones constatan la deficiencia en los indicadores de innovaci n espa oles a nivel europeo y desmontan la idea del sector servicios como un sector poco innovador debido la gran heterogeneidad, tanto en innovaci n como en productividad dentro del sector terciario. La gran velocidad con la que mejoran las tecnol gicas y la r pida creaci n de nuevos conocimientos hacen de la innovaci n una caracter stica fundamental que las empresas deben incorporar en sus actividades. No solo para conseguir el xito comercial, sino tambi n para asegurar su supervivencia en los mercados.
