Author Biography
Samuel L. Blumenfeld, noted author of eight books on education is the author of How To Tutor. The workbooks described here that accompany How To Tutor were all created by Sam's long-time friend and long-time tutor Barbara Simkus. Barbara tutored for many years in the suburban Detroit area. She used How To Tutor as a main resource for teaching her clients reading, handwriting and arithmetic. As time went on she realized that extra practice workbooks could make the job easier for parents who were helping teach their own children. Mrs. Simkus began, with Sam Blumenfeld's blessing, to create her own workbooks. The result was the 5 workbooks described in these notes.
