En 1995 fue diagnosticada con diabetes tipo 1 y desde entonces, supo el papel que tenía que desempeñar frente a la diabetes, En 2019 inició "Healthy Diabetes", un proyecto que incluye recursos educativos para mejorar la vida de aquellos impactados por la diabetes en América Latína. Ha participado como conferencista en diferentes congresos y eventos en los últimos años. Es autora del libro "Soy diferente y me gusta", que aborda el tema de aceptación cuando se vive con diabetes. Su trabajo está siempre enfocado en dar una visión diferente y más humana sobre la diabetes, proporcionando las herramientas necesarias desde nutrición y educación en diabetes, hasta conciencia plena para que, con ello, se logre disminuir las ideas limitantes y aprender a vivir con diabetes de una manera diferente.

En 2006, cursó el diplomado en Educador en Diabetes y en 2008, comenzó a escribir su historia personal en "Dulcesitos para Mi", uno de los primeros blogs sobre diabetes tipo 1 en México. Es conferencista y ha participado en múltiples congresos y medios informativos para hablar sobre diabetes de sus diferentes tipos. Su labor hace énfasis en la salud emocional de quienes viven con diabetes y su entorno.
