Esta pequeña obra no tiene grandes pretensiones sobre el motociclismo, simplemente se pretendió abordar varios tópicos en derredor a él de una forma entretenida a manera de relato, como son, entre otros: consejos de seguridad, puntos de vista sobre los moto-clubes, sobre las concentraciones y en especial sobre viajar por algunas carreteras de nuestro país. Al respecto cabe decir que la información geográfica e histórica es real: todos los lugares que se mencionan existen y las distancias son verídicas. Lo que viene a ser en parte ficción, es la historia y los personajes, pues no era la intención hacer una autobiografía. Ella y estos, fueron muchos inspirados en la realidad, incluso algunas cosas ciertamente pasaron tal cual lo que le dejaré a usted imaginar cuales lo fueron así. No se escribió únicamente para motociclistas y que cualquiera puede serlo; incluso si usted, apreciable lector, goza de las aventuras de viajes o si tan solo tiene interés en descubrir algunos rincones de México, o bien si se está iniciando como motociclista o es de aquellos experimentados viejos jinetes del asfalto, estoy seguro que en estas páginas encontrará entretenidas historias, consejos útiles y paisajes que visitar cuando menos en la imaginación. Los viajes nos hacen crecer como personas, alimentan el apetito de vivir y al hambre del nómada interno, holandés errante, insaciable de nuevos horizontes. No apetece al pusilánime sedentario: Al colono le dan nausea y al pionero le satisface, y es que las odiseas se sufren y se gozan, unas más de uno y menos de lo otro pero no hay periplo que no nos deje algo aunque sea callos en los pies. Y si por azares la aventura salió a mojicones y no de perlas como se planeaba, al final de tanta epopeya, del trasiego y cansancio del resultado de una travesía infortunada, el nómada a ultranza responderá "bien, me fue bien". Las andanzas que se narran no serán de aquellas extenuantes odiseas heroicas acuñadas a golpe de tragedia ni martirio, no hubo huracanes que hicieran naufragar venerables propósitos, ni si quiera llegó a llovizna mata-polvo y sus propósitos fueron muy remotamente distantes de conquistar nuevos mundos. No será ni por poco una travesía gloriosa enmarcada de sucesos airosos e infortunios, salvo uno que otro pequeño. No es tampoco un cuento retórico, si no, más bien pretenden contar el placer y la diversión de recorrer algunas carreteras de México sobre un acerado alazán de dos ruedas, compartiendo algunos datos de olores y colores, de lugares que enriquezcan el viaje ya si algún día pasa por ahí usted, mi querido lector, o les visite en el imaginario escape.
