Albert Sánchez Piñol (Barcelona, 1965) es antropólogo y escritor. Autor del ensayo satírico Payasos y monstruos (2000), sobre dictadores africanos, ha publicado además el libro Compañía difícil (2000), en colaboración con Marcello Fois, y el conjunto de relatos Las edades de oro (2001). Su primera novela, La piel fría (Alfaguara, 2015), fue galardonada con los premios Ojo Crítico y Llibreter y ha sido traducida a treinta y siete lenguas, convirtiéndose en un gran éxito, con más de 800.000 ejemplares vendidos en todo el mundo.
