Eduardo Calixto es médico cirujano por la Facultad de Medicina de la unam, doctor en Neurofisiología por el Instituto de Fisiología Celular, unam; con posdoctorado en Fisiología cerebral por la Universidad de Pittsburgh, Estados Unidos. Es miembro del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores del CONACyT, investigador y jefe de departamento en el Instituto Nacional de Psiquiatría "Ramón de la Fuente". Su línea de investigación está relacionada con la adicción a drogas, recuperación funcional y procesos de plasticidad neuronal. Es académico de la Facultad de Medicina y Psicología de la unam; Premio Mentes Quo/Discovery, obtuvo el reconocimiento por Trayectoria Cumbre Internacional del Conocimiento en México por el Senado de la República LXIV Legislatura.
