Vincent Thomas es el nico hijo de Edmundo "Pucho" Guibourg, el hist rico gran amigo de Carlos Gardel. En 1927, la familia Guibourg acompa a a Gardel en el "Conte Verde" rumbo a Europa. El cantante viajaba con sus guitarristas en lo que ser a su gira europea consagratoria. A Guibourg lo esperaba un puesto importante como corresponsal en Par s para el diario argentino Critica. Vincent Thomas hoy recuerda algunos detalles desconocidos del viaje, y lo sucedido en Europa cuando llegaron. Por suerte, lo ven a Gardel seguido en el Par s de los a os siguientes. En 1932, la familia vuelve a la Argentina. Casi al mismo tiempo, Gardel le manda una carta a su apoderado Armando Defino para que "se acerque a Pucho", como cuenta Defino mismo en su libro sobre Gardel. Empieza una larga amistad entre "Pucho" y Defino, dos pilares de la historia gardeliana. El joven Vincent hoy recuerda todas las informaciones que se manejaban en el hogar. Incluso algunas confidenciales. Sus fuentes son Armando Defino, Adela Defino, Luis Pierotti, Enrique de Rosas y Do a Berta, la madre de Gardel. Mas adelante Vincent crece y se aleja del circulo de amistades de su padre. Pero el recuerdo lo lleva para siempre, y poco antes de morir su padre le pidi que "haga algo" con estas valiosas memorias. Hoy este "senior citizen", residente de Los Angeles, cumple con ese pedido. Este es un libro muy personal, un verdadero homenaje al hombre que marc su juventud, Carlos Gardel.
