Author Biography
Alberto Barrera Tyszka nació en Caracas, Venezuela, en 1960. Estudió Letras en la UCV y en la década de los ochenta formó parte de los grupos poéticos Guaire y Tráfico. Con La enfermedad (2006) ganó el Premio Herralde de Novela y, en 2015, obtuvo el Premio Tusquets por su novela Patria o muerte. Ha publicado, además, libros de cuentos, poesía y crónicas periodísticas. Su obra ha sido traducida a varios idiomas y ha obtenido reconocimiento en Francia, Inglaterra, Alemania y China. Durante años, ha publicado artículos de análisis y opinión en medios como El País, The New York Times y El Nacional de Venezuela. También ha trabajado como guionista en diversos países. Actualmente vive en Ciudad de México
