Author Biography
Arturo Goicochea nació en Mondragón en 1946. Se licenció en Medicina en la Universidad de Valladolid y se especializó en Neurología en los hospitales de Sant Pau y Bellvitge de Barcelona en 1978. Ese mismo año creó la sección de Neurología del hospital de Santiago de Vitoria, que dirigió hasta la jubilación, en 2011. Inicialmente dedicó una atención especial al alcoholismo crónico.
Más adelante se centró en la investigación de los llamados «síntomas sin explicación médica», gracias a la cual desarrolló un marco teórico basado en la hipervigilancia y en la influencia de la información experta. Ha publicado Jaqueca, análisis neurobiológico de un dolor irracional (2004), Migraña, una pesadilla cerebral (2009), Desaprender la migraña (2019) y Sapiens, manon troppo(2020).
