Author Biography
César Mallorquí (Barcelona, 1953) estudió Periodismo en la Facultad de Ciencias de la Información de la Universidad Complutense. En los años 70 trabajó como articulista en La Codorniz y como guionista en la Cadena SER, al tiempo que colaboraba con diversas publicaciones periódicas. En 1981, abandonó el periodismo y comenzó a trabajar como redactor publicitario y productor de spots para una agencia norteamericana. Más adelante fue ascendido al cargo de Director Creativo, puesto que desempeñó en varias agencias de publicidad. En 1991 abandonó la publicidad activa y pasó a dirigir el Curso de Creatividad Publicitaria del IADE, al tiempo que colaboraba como guionista de TV con diversas productoras y cadenas. A partir también de esa fecha, César Mallorquí pasó a dedicarse plenamente a la literatura. Entre los numerosos premios que ha obtenido por sus obras figuran el Premio Edebé en 1996 por El último trabajo del Señor Luna; el Gran Angular en el 2001 por La catedral; el premio Edebé en 1999 por La cruz de El Dorado, en el 2002 por Las Lágrimas de Shiva y, otra vez, en el 2012 por La isla de Bowen, obra que mereció también el Premio Nacional de Literatura Infantil y Juvenil en el 2013.
