Wilhelm Busch (1832-1908) war einer der einflussreichsten humoristischen Dichter und Zeichner Deutschlands. Seine erste Bildergeschichte als Tafeln erschien 1859 und als ein Buch Bilderpossen 1864. Schon in den 1870er Jahren z hlte er zu den bekannten Pers nlichkeiten Deutschlands. Zu seinem Todeszeitpunkt galt er als ein "Klassiker des deutschen Humors", der mit seinen satirischen Bildergeschichten eine gro e Volkst mlichkeit erreichte.
