For, a commodity economy like India must aim to develop strong global commodity derivatives markets in the country to promote swift growth in agriculture, industry, and international trade by strengthening competition and competitive efficiency to improve productivity, as also proficiency in marketing in all sectors of the economy. This book is a modest step towards achieving that aim and objective.
Author Biography
Dr. Madhoo Pavaskar is Director, Research and Strategy, in the 63 Moons Technologies Limited (63 MTL), which was formerly known as the Financial Technologies (India) Limited (FTIL). His varied and vast experience spans over 65 years, of which 21 years were with Tata Economic Consultancy Services, from where he retired as Executive Director, six years as Head of Forward Markets Research Cell at Department of Economics, University of Mumbai, and nine years with forward Markets Commission, Government of India. For the past 10 years, he is with FTIL (now 63 MTL) and one or other of its subsidiaries.
He has authored, edited, and got published 22 books on such diverse sectors as commodity derivatives trading, commodity marketing, transport, communications, services, etc. His research articles and papers published in academic journals number over 200. Dr. Pavaskar is a recognized authority in India on economics of commodity derivatives trading. Dr. Pavaskar had acquired M.Com., LL. B., and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Bombay. He was awarded the Judge Spencer Prize in 1950 for having stood First in First Class at the LL.B. examinations held by the University of Bombay during that year.- In stock, ready to ship
