Here, the student continues on where Classic Series: Volume 1 leaves off, advancing into intermediate music containing intervals, chords, key signatures, the damper pedal, eighth, tripleted, sixteenth and dotted note values and more. The end result is a piano student who has complete understanding of the notation and terms found in intermediate music and can apply them with expression and control in the playing of such music, ready to tackle the wealth of musical material available on the market.Volume 2 Intermediate Basics for the Piano includes: - Checksheets with projects listed for each workshop- Checkouts at the end of each workshop to review important points- Final exam at the end of the book- Music glossary- Individual subject, music, and workout indexes- Certificate of Completion- All necessary flashcardsFive workshops guide the student from learning simple, hands together music through playing intermediate arrangements of works by classical composers, folk and patriotic songs, and compositions by the authors themselves.Music is presented in an easy gradient (learning curve) to build confidence. Each piece of music contains only the terms and notation learned up to that point.Note: The student should begin the Essential Piano and Keyboard Technique and Mastering Intervals books at the indicated points within Volume 2. Though they are not required, these two resources enhance progress through this book and are studied well past its completion, aiding the student toward higher levels of musicianship.
