Susanna Isern
Susanna Isern creció rodeada de las montañas del Pirineo. De pequeña lo que más le gustaba era correr de acá para allá mientras descubría insectos increíbles y ayudaba a animalitos enfermos o en peligro. Fue en esa época que algunos de aquellos animales comenzaron a contarle cuentos al oído, los cuales escribía rápidamente en una libreta que llevaba siempre encima.
En la actualidad, las historias surgen de la forma más inesperada: algunas llaman a la puerta, otras las encuentra escondidas debajo de la cama o nadando en el café con leche, aunque la mayoría aparecen como mariposas que pilla al vuelo.
Desde que publicó su primer álbum ilustrado, en primavera de 2011, son más de 30 libros infantiles los que han visto la luz. La mayoría de sus obras se comercializan internacionalmente y pueden encontrarse, además de en braille, en más de una docena de idiomas: español, catalán, gallego, euskera, inglés, francés, alemán, italiano, portugués, polaco, ruso, rumano, árabe, chino y coreano.
Entre sus álbumes destacan What are you scared of, Little Mouse? (¿De qué tienes miedo, Ratoncito?) premiado con Medalla de Plata en los Moonbeam Children's Books Award 2015 de EE.UU., en la categoría picture book - preschool. Y The Magic Ball of Wool (El Ovillo Mágico), premiado con Medalla de Plata en la categoría de mejor álbum ilustrado de 4 a 8 años en los Moonbeam Children´s Book Awards 2013 de EE.UU.
Compatibiliza su pasión por la escritura con la Psicología. Dirige el Gabinete de Psicología de Aula Dédalo de Santander y es profesora de Psicología del Aprendizaje en la Universidad Europea del Atlántico.
