Farris is a licensed professional counselor and licensed school counselor. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Missouri in Kansas City in 1975. She earned her master's degree in Counseling from Dallas Baptist University in 2004. She is a certified teacher in Texas. She taught middle and high school English for twenty-three years and has been a high school counselor for seven years. She and Dan serve as a team in working with couples and families through their ministry.
