He also taught public health to the students of healthcare management.
The author has played an important technical advisory role in two consecutive rounds of the world's largest Demographic and Health Survey- the National Family Health Survey of India. For providing technical support, he was specially invited to the Technical Advisory Group for Annual Health Surveys of India, by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MOHFW), and to the Central Surveillance Team for HIV Sentinel Surveillance, by the National AIDS Control Organization, MOHFW, Govt. of India. Dr. Anil, as an expert task force member for the Coalition for Sustainable Nutrition Security in India, contributed in developing the leadership agenda for action to address malnutrition in the country. He was engaged with various projects funded by international organizations like USAID, DFID, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM).
