Charles Kovacs nace en Becs, Austria, el 8 de febrero de 1907. Abandona su país natal en 1938 en la época de la anexión de Austria por parte del Tercer Reich y se alista en el ejército británico en África Oriental. Después de la segunda Guena Mundial, se establece en Gran Bretaña y en 1956 empieza su labor como profesor de Clase Principal en la Escuela Waldorf Steiner de Edimburgo, donde permanece hasta su jubilación en 1976. Durante ese período, Charles Kovacs escribe extensas notas de sus clases día tras día. Desde entonces esos textos han sido utilizados y apreciados durante muchos años por los maestros de Edimburgo y otras Escuelas Waldorf. Abarcan temas de historia, mitología y ciencias. Fallece en Edimburgo en septiembre de 2001.
