Author Biography
Nir Baram nació en Jerusalén en 1976 en el seno de una célebre familia de políticos. Tanto su padre como su abuelo fueron ministros en gobiernos laboristas. Publicó su primera novela, Purple Love Story, con veintidós años, después de terminar el servicio militar obligatorio. Tras The Mask-Ball Children (2000), su segundo libro, publicó The Remaker of Dreams (2006), que tuvo un gran éxito y fue finalista del prestigioso Premio Sapir. En 2010 ganó el Prime Minister Award de literatura hebrea gracias a Las buenas personas (Alfaguara, 2013), la primera novela israelí sobre la Segunda Guerra Mundial, cuyos derechos fueron vendidos a catorce idiomas y cuya publicación supuso un acontecimiento literario en toda Europa. Su siguiente novela, La sombra del mundo, tuvo también una excelente acogida por parte de los lectores y fue elegida libro del año por TimeOut y Sof Shavua. Es columnista habitual del periódico Haaretz y destaca por su visión crítica sobre la sociedad y la política israelíes. Al final de la noche es su última novela.
