Children learn doves are in the pigeon family, and dove size is compared with robins and crows. Children are encouraged take an interest in birds and learn more about them. The book is 19 pages, with additional blank pages for children to draw and write about their own bird discoveries.

Nancy Runner lives in Wisconsin. Nancy has published a book of autograph verses (the ones we used to write in yearbooks) titled "2Cute 2Be 4Gotten," and human interest essays. She took photographs of mourning doves nesting on her porch and turned them into a picture book for young children: "A Book about Mourning Doves."
